Coming Home/Breathe
After losing both of my parents in 2020 and 2021 and rearranging my whole life, it’s time to come home to poetry. It was hard to be inspired when things were swirling around me and I could only focus on what was in front of me. My trusty pup Casey remains at my side. Looking forward to the future…
Breathe
The loss was deep
an endless void
It’s time to breathe again…

Perfect Trouble
The way he savored me
With just a glance
Confirmed that
I was in for some
Perfect Trouble
Tonight
An excerpt from “Mad Housekeeping: Poems from the Edge”
Go Get It Girl
Things collected
All packed to go
Out through the window
She looked down below
She’d leave in the morning
What else could she do?
She wouldn’t look back
Worse she’d been through
Anywhere but here
She exclaimed with a sigh
I’ll be ok
I’ll be just fine
Morning came
And with it misgivings
Her sleep troubled
Her dreams wouldn’t give in
I’m sticking this out
Improvise on the go
I’m not giving up
It’s time for the show
Resolve in her pocket
& a smile on her face
Go get it girl
Get back in the race
Better
The vision I see
Is a better place
Full of happiness
A return to grace
Bellies full of yummy food
Education would be the rule
We have the chance
To change the wrongs
Not just for some
For everyone
The Witch
The moon whispers
of spells & secrets
of ancient rituals
of the lands beyond
It called her by a name
The name deep within
The one no one had known
The one from centuries past
And she had changed
She would never be the same
She understood the charge
She now would begin
Just a Second
It’s just a moment
One second or two
Just for me
to look at you
To watch your face
See your eyes
To remember why
I’m in love with you
All This Time
Spending my life
Listening for that
One heartbeat
That matched mine
I could not hear it
Though you were by my side
All this time
An excerpt from “Under the Tree” by Tracy Meyerhofer
To the Moon and Back
I’d travel to the moon and back
To watch you wake at dawn
To see you cuddle in our blankets
To rumple up your hair
But time can’t change the craters
The endless tears or scars
The void that stands between us
The emptiness we share
The Habit
I never said I love you
Intentions lost in time
Opportunities wasted
Instead you should be mine
I saw you at the station
The habit on your head
Now you live a different life
I walked away, respect
